Can You See Now?

“Understanding (spiritual insight) is a [refreshing and boundless] wellspring of life to those who have it, but to give instruction and correction to a fool is foolishness.”

-(Proverbs 16:22 AMP)

Don’t you know the Lord wants to reveal divine secrets to His children? He wants to show you the present and future things to come. The Lord wants to enable you to see things in a prophetic light. Many fail to understand that our loving Heavenly Father longs to have such intimacy in the area of communication. Many miss out on opportunities for revelations, instruction,  and even to perceive things about their future destiny.

Understand first that we serve a prophetic God (Ephesians 1:17-19). So we are also called to be prophetic people with prophetic-like functions. Being prophetic simply means your spiritually intuned to the voice of God, where He can give you revelation whether that be present or future [ though not limited to just these few things, He is limitless].

 Because of lack of understanding, superstition, and ignorance, many will say, “oh well, isn’t that fortune-telling, isn’t that witchcraft”?.If the devil is a copycat, He is doing the counter opposite. He can’t create anything, so he takes what already exists, trying to recreate a version. Hence where the word per-version comes from. Satan tries to take things that God created holy and make them perverted and unholy. God is spirit, and He sent His Holy Spirit to reveal things we can’t remember but also things we don’t even know or understand!

 And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people by God’s will.”-(Romans 8:27 AMP)

“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” -(John 14:26 AMP)

So if the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God's spirit because [He is God’s spirit] and if God is Omniscient [all knowing], then how is it witchcraft if its His spirit [ the Holy Spirit] revealing to you all things? Often God cannot open up the secrets of the spirit realm because of, as mentioned, lack of understanding, pure disbelief, but because many are distracted. So many of us are so busy ordering our lives only after what we can see with our natural eyes- and trying to figure out and discern what to do about things from our carnal mind.

“ For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose].”-(Romans 8:5 AMP)

The enemy doesn’t want God's people to see! He wants you to be blind like Elisha’s servant in Second Kings chapter 6; when the King of Syria came to capture them and his servant went out and saw how the army of Syria surrounded the mountain. His servant was so busy looking at his surroundings [through the natural eye] which kept him from receiving prophetic insight. Elisha didn’t pray and ask the Lord for his servant to have power or strength. He prayed that the Lord would give his servant sight “open his eyes”! Did you notice that the keyword was that he asked? So often, people don’t think to ask God to give them prophetic insight, being left with just the natural perspective. However, once Elisha's servant was able to see into the spirit, he was able to see through God’s perspective. Just imagine all the bad choices that have been made that resulted from failing to see God's viewpoint in life's situations.

First, allow me to give all Glory to God and none of mine. He is the only one to provide me with the spiritual ability to have insight into anything that I’ve encountered so far in life's journey. I am humbled and filled with His joy that He allows me to be a part of many of the beautiful things He is doing on the earth. (John 17:13)

I remember when the Lord sent me on one of many assignments to work for a hospital. The care given in this hospital primarily had to do with hospice, physical and orthopedic therapy. Just two years prior, the Lord had supernaturally healed me from melanoma cancer stage 1-it was progressive. So when the Lord ironically had me begin working amongst sickly people preparing to die, I was confused about why He would send me into such an environment.  I learned something about God during this time, that whatever He delivers you out of, He will then anoint you to bring others out. I remember saying to God casually, “Lord, why would you bring me here? I hate being around death; why am I here? Please give me wisdom and understanding”.

After some weeks, The Lord began to open my eyes. I began to encounter different people from all walks of life searching for meaning in their lives in all the wrong places. God began to reveal these people were spiritually dry and spiritually “dead.” The Lord began to use me to minister and to pray for many who came into the facility; it’s like they just were drawn to me. Co-workers, patients, and family members alike would gather around my workspace just wanting to be in my presence [The Lord's presence]. It was so bad that the whole administration office became so suspicious of me, constantly questioning me- I'm sure they thought I was running a drug trafficking ring, and No, of course, I wasn’t! Again I inquired wisdom from the Lord for insight and understanding. The Lord began to tell me that I was His representative, His ambassador of heaven. There were even times when so many people would say, “ you're such a bright light in this dark place” These were people who didn’t even believe in the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob!  The Holy Spirit would often bring to my remembrance  Matthew Chapter 5:

14 “You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.-Matthew 5:14-16

All Glory unto God Hallelujah! I boast on the Lord because He used my uneasiness around death and my deliverance from cancer to allow His name to be glorified. Many people who passed from that hospital came to know the Lord because of my obedience-Glory to God! I genuinely believe they are with Him in paradise. I had to realize God using me was bigger than me; it wasn’t about me! I had to allow God to get the glory and didn’t lean to my understanding, letting my natural sight override God's prophetic light.

Like Elisha's servant [because of prophetic insight], I realized that things were not as bad as they seemed. Take a moment and think back on specific situations that have happened in your life. Think back and examine and ask yourself, did you ask the Lord for His perspective? If not, what do you think could have happened if you saw those situations in a prophetic light? Like Elisha, we can ask the Lord starting today to open our eyes and see His viewpoint.

Trust God today that as you ask for divine prophetic insight, that He will answer and give you a new outlook on everything that seems dark and confusing in your life. Expect to see things from His perspective from that moment forward.
